Cant think of any reason it wouldn't, but I've never actually tried. I assume it is the same length as what the 87 started with?

Yes, As long as your swapping the same length beds, and not trying to put a single tank bed on a dual tank truck (which will still fit, but it makes it difficult to fill the rear tank 
).
