Ranger and Mustang 2.3 blocks

Wondering if the 91-93 Ranger 2.3 block are the same as the 91-93 Mustang 2.3 blocks and interchangeable. And if so are the oil pans the same also. Thanks.

91-93 the Mustangs had the 8 plug head and were essentially the same engine. in the Rangers the 94 also had the same style but things changed in 95...so you might be able to use a 94 Ranger 2.3 in a 91-93 mustang...

That document has been around forever and I've seen it posted on other Ranger and Mustang sites.
