Ive just done a v8 swap and i want an exhaust system that isnt realy loud. I have the exhaust cut outs to where i can flip a switch and open the headers. I want it to be a sleeper. Any advice on what kind of mufflers i could use to accomplish this.

flowmaster delta 50's are quite with a low rumble. Get a large, baffled muffler by any dealer. You could also try using F150 mufflers, but that'll suck a little bit of hp.

F-150 mufflers are huge, I could barely get one to fit between the frame and driveshaft on my Ranger. I didn't know it at the time, but apparently it would ocassionally rub on the driveshaft too. That was out of a '97, I had high hopes of using my 50k 2002 F-150 exhaust but pinned against the frame the driveshaft would still be about 1/3 the way into it.

I vote for turbo mufflers, quietish and cheap. IMO I really don't like either the sound or price of Flowmasters.

Factory Ranger mufflers are pretty small and quiet too, it has been too many moons ago for me to remember how they fit under there though.
