Ranger 3.0 starting problem

When i go to start my 1993 ranger it will start first time But if i do not get it started first time or if it stalls, i have to wait before it will start again and now it will not start at all. i took off the distribtor cap and noticed the rotor was not spinning when i crank it, what could be the problem.

sounds like a stripped dizzy gear or sheered pin. pull the dizzy.
