Ranger 1996 Not Starting?

Ranger1996 2.8 6cyl automatic. Will not start at all, nothing from the engine, no clicking, not turning over, all silent. Dash lights up, radio, lights, but when the keyis turned nothing but the lights on the dash. The truck just ran over 40 miles to pick up some wood flooring, stopping and starting at least 4 times without issues. Parked to unload, engine was still warm the first time it didn't start back up and now nothing happens – not sure where to begin to troubleshoot. The truck has always run great and started very easily, checked oil is fine, probably something electric but need a place to start looking. I'm as old as the truck in man years so my mechanic days are long over but I'd like to get it running again so it can be repaired. Soo lucky, it's at least in my driveway at the end of the day.
Any simple suggestions would be great, Thanks

Try crawling under it and wacking the starter with a hammer.

Ahh, the old hammer tool! I might give it a try but not sure I will be able to crawl out from back under it, haha! I think I'm going to try replacing the solenoid since it's easy to access on the engine wall, no crawling required. Thanks for the reply!
