Ahh thanks for the correction, I knew that other part was weird for being an EGR valve. Is that valve even really needed its like $120.

Im not really sure, i think if it came from the factory with it, the truck will run a bit funky without it. I know a lot of guys convert it to non-EGR, buy blocking it off and getting a computer from a non-EGR ranger.

to help with some confusion here the 88 2.9 has no egg system from factory 87/89 did y idk ask ford lol but never the less its not a vacuum leak the top end of the motor was just rebuilt by my own hands an already checked for leaks none injectors r fine so is the ignition everything is new on the motor had the problem b4 an its still here replacing the o2 fixes it for almost a week but then right back to the issue i replaced my throttle body with a 58mm one an i know its clean!! fuel filter? its been a while thats one i havent been told to try friday thatll b my task if it helps ill let everyone know!!!

You kinda lost me on that one. Just in case... The 89 2.9 engine (at least mine) does NOT have an EGR valve.
