My tranny is slipping but if I unplug the blue connector it runs better. Ran codes and I got 11 back. The 02 sensors I can handle but the others I may need a little help. I have a 2000 Ford Ranger Super Cab with 3.0 and automatic trans. Codes I got are:

PO743 Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid
PO176 Fuel Sensor
P1747 Electronic Pressure Control
PO750 Shift Solenoid 1
PO755 Shift Solenoid 2
PO760 Shift Solenoid 3
P1451 Evap Canister Solenoid
PO1409 EGR Vacuum Regulator

Can I please get some help!

Thanks
Chris

Well this is weird but it was all a 15amp fuse under the hood. Fixed everything except the Fuel Composition Sensor. I seen some troubleshooting tip on here so I am going to try those and see what happens.

Sorry, I have the year earlier version w/ MANUAL, so I don't know what ANY of your codes mean, except PO1409... but it sounds like that's resolved.

"Fuel Composition Sensor"?? Is your truck Flex-fuel, and that's how it detects alcohol content?

Is your gas cap any good? I had a code for a while that said that the fuel pressure sensor was bad, but it just turned out to be a bad gas cap.

Whew... that's a good real world tidbit to tuck away in ready-memory! Anything to know about aftermarket (locking?) gas caps?

Not really a thead-jack... ;')

I made a bunch of calls to dealerships and they let me talk to their Tranny guy. I was telling him about all the codes for the tranny and he said that weird. He said are you are not getting any O2 sensor codes and I said yeah but I did not think one had to do with the other. Thats when he told me to check the fuse. He said unplug all the O2 sensors because one of them was blowing the fuse. So I did and went thru and plugged them in one at a time to see what one was blowing the fuse. Now runs like a champ.

Funny part is I bought the truck 2000 Ranger Super Cab (Flex Fuel) with 90600 mile on it and the guy sold it to me for $500 because he said it was going to need a tranny. So I got nothing into the truck. My lucky Day. LOL

Do the auto-to-manual tranny swap, completed by many on this board, and you'll be ahead on several economic fronts.

At Lexus I used to have customers coming in all the time with a Check Engine light with a fuel code. I'd always go out back, click the gas cap 3 times, and reset the code and it would be fine. People apparently couldn't read the label on the cap that stated "turn until 3 clicks".

For some lazy Americans that's a lot of exercise... don't want to strain their thumb, or break a nail.
