hey guys so i've been having a problem with water leaking into the cab, i started digging around and noticed that behind the passenger kick panel behind the pcm that i have a couple holes in the sheet metal that i think could be the problem or could i have a clogged cowell, so whats the best way to go about repairing this on a 1990 ranger 2.3l no a/c it leaks everytime it rains

thanks guys

Well, get a buddy on a non-rainy day, and do the water-hose test to see if it's a cowl leakage issue or the "couple holes in the sheet metal" that you found.

First question - do these "couple holes" allow daylight in? That might be a good indication. You didn't specify exterior or interior sheetmetal as to where the holes are.

Second question - Have you ruled out your seal at the windshield? This can also be checked with the aforementioned buddy/hose test.

Just some thoughts.

I agree, check it with a hose and make sure you check the windshield. To unclog your cowl if it is just clogged and not already rusted through, remove the access plates on the fire wall and reach in and grab the junk out. The pressure from a garden hose can also help flush it out too if you cant reach it with your hands.

alright guys im gonna jump on it tomorow, and its rusted through on the inside and yeah i can deff see light coming through on the inside, but yeah thanks guys ill let you know about the outcome

Providing pictures will help get your issue resolved faster.

I guarantee this is your problem...

These are pics of both of my '92 Rangers I've had.

Heres a pic of how I fixed my extended cab, it wasn't very fun.

I don't have a before picture of this unfortunately, but if I had let it go it would have rotted out completely around the top door hinge, as I've seen on some other trucks.
