I started a thread in the mazda section but figured this section would probably have a little more traffic. So anyway I am repairing some of the front end(radius bushing, ball joints, tie rods) on my 94 2WD B3000 and when finished, put the passenger side back together just fine. Then I went to put the driver side spring in and noticed there was a washer on this side that wasn't on the other. It is right on the spring stud under the nut that holds the radius arm on. I dont know if I lost it or if someone else did in another repair. I have seen exploded views online, and none of them seem to show it except for one. So does it need to be there? should I just add a washer to the other side? Or remove it all together? I need this truck going I have a job interview tomorrow!

Here is a shot of the washer in question.

If it was there when you took it apart I would just leave it there. If I remember correctly the bottom spring bucket should accept that just fine. It's not like it will throw the whole geometry off the suspension anyway.

yeah the lower spring seat sits flush on it, and I remember it being there when I took it apart just not if it was on both sides. So if I leave it as it is...one on the driver side and none on the passenger side you don't think that it could give me alignment issues?

Might want to give that brake line a second look too

hahaha yeah I know luckily its just the rubber sleeve, the mesh hose inside is still good

As long as it was aligned like that before it shouldn't make a difference, you would actually mess the alignment up by leaving it out (if the spring actually sits on it)

There is rubber on the inside too, I smoked a set of pads and a rotor because it flaked apart, acted like a check valve and kept the pressure to the caliper.

Mine has a cone shaped washer to align the spring so it doesn't move all over. Followed by a spring isolator, but someone probably just put that one washer under the pring to keep it from sagging on one side???

yeah I have the cone shaped washer with the insulator/seat too, they actually sit right on top of this washer. I guess I'm gonna put it all back together then as it is and if it gives me problems pull it all back apart...so much for do it once do it right hahaha

likely done as an alignment/ride height adjustment
