so i've been planning on doing the washer coil spacer mod to my ranger. i put the explorer leafs in it about a month ago now. I LOVE the way it drives and handles now, not even the same truck anymore, and i can actually haul stuff without it sagging really bad. but the front end needs to be lifted BAD!

so my question is: when i have the coil, shock, and sway bar disconnected, will i be able to take the nut off the radius arm and just pull the axle forward enough to get the new bushings on? i really dont want to go through the hassle of grinding off the rivets and such.... so what do you think?

not certain but i dont think so. all it would take is pulling the bolt out of the pivot point on the axle beams though, no rivets to grind off

I was able to change my bushings the way you're describing but my truck is 2wd. I've read about using a come-along to pull the beams forward and change the bushings.
