I just replaced these R.A. bushings TWO years ago and they are absolutely GONE!!

Man that sucks - seems like there's a lot of RA bushing replacement going on around TRS lately. Maybe you should do a tech write-up?

Where did you get those bushings? Those look like the ones I installed a few months ago  I think I also threw out the heat shield, not knowing what it was.

I got those R.A. bushings from ford two years ago... Looks like I'll be ordering the Poly bushings from NAPA today. As far as a write up I would but i really don't have the time to snap pix, run a Porta-Power and twist wrenches at the same time. I'm going to try and weld up a washer with some thin plate to make a heat shield...

And while I've got the truck torn apart I might put in a 4.0 radiator.

Oh I used the high-temperature bushings from Napa, so hopefully mine will last a long time. Good luck.

Holy jesus. wtf is wrong with Ford quality?! My stock bushings on two b2s are still in one piece, but replacement ones can't last 2 years? Sheesh.

poly bushings are a bad choice for radius arms.

the radius arm bushing has to flex to allow suspension travel, poly doesn't do that.

poly bushings destroyed the passenger side radius arm bucket on my b2, egged that son of a bitch right out.

I've had Moog bushings in mine (rubber with a metal sleeve) in mine for over 6 years and they are still like new.

I just "adjusted the OEM rubber bushings on my '89 radius arms....they had shrunken from age causing a gap between them and the frame bracket...

The heat shied is necessary on the bushings...it also keeps them from squshing out & falling to pieces over time/then the poly bushings get destroyed from all the yanking around while driving....

I just got through looking at the bucket on the passenger side. Looks like I might have to replace that also... It's egged pretty bad :pissedoff: :annoyed:

X2 - I had mine for 8 years on my Explorer, and they were still on it when I sold it. Moog FTW!

EDIT: I also just put Moog's on my truck back in July.

which is why poly bushings are a bad idea ;)

I was just thinking, I remember the guy at Autzone telling me they carry the new brackets for like 50 bucks a side. Not a bad investment if yours are egged.

EDIT: I just looked 'em up on Rock Auto. They sell new arms made by Moog for about 37 bucks a piece.
