so i installed my 7" screen in my ranger took out the factory deck , ever since i put the deck in i had problems with memory loss, so i said screw it tried to put my stock radio back in cause i knew it would work... well thats the problem it didnt, so i bought a new deck recently and memory seems to be the issure , ive looked at the red and yellow wires on the added harness had them hooked up on there own didnt work so i attached both and i got power. but memory is gone completely , im up to my head in stress and have no idea's left ... input.. thanks :annoyed:

The yellow - constant on power IIRC - needs to be hooked to a constant on power source. it is possible that you hooked it to one that shuts off with the key. double check that you're getting power to that wire when the truck is off.

Yes exactly.

The Yellow wire needs to have constant power. Even eith the key off, this wire should have power.

i need a test light to see if its got power ... but i dont think it does

next ill test the wire in the trucks harness . i think its somthing with the truck . being with the factory radio has no power .. yet the aftermarket does .. its ****ed up

Did you get a harness with the stereo? cause that should have had the right plug with basically color matching the wires.

Also you may have blown the radio fuse... do your parking lights and brake lights still work?

yes i have used the radio and the harness saver. parking and brake work. imgoing to look over fuses in the smart junction box next

The hot lead to the battery and the hot lead to the ignition usually yellow and red are backwards.

if it was a fuse his radio wouldnt work at all. it works he just has to reset his stations and time every single time he turns it on, if i read it correctly Only one cause for this. Well least as far as I know.
