just curious as to what radiators yall are running on your v8 swap projects. I have found that 92 mustang radiator fits in the core support well without any hacking (84 Ranger). Post pics of your setup.

Mine was from a 94 I belive........and the cutting began.

Mine is from a 97 4.0 Explorer.. sorry, no pics as of yet. No cutting of the radiator support.. but I did have to relocate the wire loom to the underside of the support and used 97 taurus fans in front of the AC condensor.

'36 Ranger upright......LOL

I'm using my stock Ranger 4.0 Rad. It is sitting where the AC condensor used to sit. I trimmed about 1/4" off the bottom of the core support to fit it under, plus a little more for access to the cap.
Similar mod can be done with your early core support.

Sorry for the hijack but, anyone try and use an early 90's f150 5.0L rad in the BII/Rangers?? I have one from a donor truck and was just wondering if it would be usable.

I'm still running the 4.0L rad and engine but am in the planning stage of a 5.0L swap and my 4.0L rad has started to leak. I was thinking rather than find another 4.0L rad that may or may not cool a V8 when the engine swap comes that I might see if I can use the v8 rad now, that way when the v8 swap comes I am one step closer.

Any ideas?

I've got the James Duff brass unit but it is marginal for cooling anything but a stock 5.0.

I have a supercharger with 8 rib pulleys so getting a fan with enough CFM has been a challenge!

One thing I found is that on a 100* day just running the heater fan on high dropped the temps quickly. I mounted a Nascar oil cooler under the Duff unit with a limo rear heater control valve. It operates by an electrical switch that provides vacuum to the valve at 180*. The aux radiator holds 2 quarts.

It's putting out about 400HP...but I have a 347 and T trim going in it next winter so the radiator support will be redone and a custom radiator will be installed. Dynoed at 624HP on a mild tune......:icon_hornsup:
