Well its time to purchase the radiator and I have a few questions. I've seen both a super duty radiator which mountsin the stock mounts and I've seen the duff type radiator the fits up in the core support. I've also heard of a short water pump and a long water pump.

I'm putting in a 302 from an 83 e150, I would assume that alot of the clearance issues are addressed with the position of the motor. I know one drawback to the duff is the a/c which takes a little more work to install a condensor. The other thing is I'm planning on running v-belts.

So my question is, will the 3 core super duty allow clearance at the front of the motor.

You are talking the superduty as in a 4.0L radiator with a thick core right? That rad and the short water pump will work as far as room. Not totally sure how close it will be with the stang mounts being I didn't use them but I had miles of room. It was in an 89 BII so it was pretty similar to what you are looking at.

The long pump will work, but with 1/2" between the WP and radiator you are pretty much stuck with a pusher fan... which is working for me without AC.

I would get the short belt drive (5.0 Explorers are common in yards right now in my area) so you can maybe leave the HD Explorer radiator in the stock location and still have room for your AC stuff where it used to be and have room for a more effective puller fan.

The HD radiator does ok in my truck, I do wonder if having the AC condensor in front dumping hot air into would hurt cooling though.
