as yall know, i have a 84 ranger with a 5.0 mustang gt engine.

i blew my stock ranger radiator out yesterday and im in need of a new one.

im looking at buy one from summit racing thats for a ranger v8 conversion and it will hold up to my amount of horsepower and its a direct bolt in.

its 447 dollars.
this is also including a free billit aluminum radiator cap and 2 gallons of antifreeze.

also, whats a good fan shroud to run?

if you uys know any better options lemy know.

i want an aluminum one with the tranny cooler and everything.

i have a mechanical fan.

hmmm what stock rad were you running (how many cores, what motor it was for, etc.)? and did you modify the core support so that it sat farther forward for more clearance?

man, before you spend 447 dollars on a radiator, look at the three core expo radiators or something, that's really steep for a radiator.

its the stock radiator for the 2.2 diesel. no modification was done to the core support.

i belive its 1 core. not really positive though.
the demensions of my core are: 18 wide by 15 tall by 1.5 thick.
im not positive on the thickness

whats your clearance like from the water pump to the back of the rad?

thats plenty of space.. id try "napaonline.com" and look at other rbv radiators all dimensions are listed.. im sure some of the other guys have some ideas too..

Get you a 5.0 mustang radiator, it should fit. Look on Craig s List too. Lot of people start projects and don't finish them you can usually get about 1/2 price.

Look at jamesduff.com They have a rad specific for 5.0 swaps in our RBV's and its beautiful stuff. Ive already seen their 5.0 swap in a B2 and its quality.

By the way, you should never have had a factory ranger rad in a 50 swap. LOL
