Radiator fan not coming on?

Ok I just did some investigating and the gentleman I purchased the truck from had a little fender bender. I went to check the fan and it was being held still by the plastic cover that covers the fan. It was pressing down on it. I loosened the 2 screws raised it a little bit and now it's working fine smh. Thanks for the suggestions fellas.

Open the hood and take a picture of the fan and post it .
The factory fan to cool the engine is attached to the water pump via a clutch. If it is electric it is an aftermarket add on.

I tried to post pictures it won't let me. The fan is attached to the water pump though.

Sounds like you have two separate issues.

- Blower motor for the Heater isn't working.

- Clutch on the mechanical fan isn't working.

I would start by replacing the fan clutch, so your truck won't overheat. Once that's fixed, address your blower motor.

If you truck has an electrical radiator fan, you'll need to find out why it's not working; either not getting power or it has a bad motor.

This I what I was trying to say. The cooling radiator fan is working now and it's not an electrical fan it was attached to the water pump. Thanks for all the help!

I have no idea either. I purchased the truck drove it home removed the transmission to replace leaking slave cylinder. Drove it got stuck in traffic found it to be overheating checked the cooling fan, it wasn't on then I started asking questions on this forum.

As to the HVAC fan, will it work on the highest speed setting? Usually the resistor pack failing will only take out the lower speeds. If it's all of them, verify that your getting 12 volts to the fan. I don't have a diagram handy, but it should be easy to look up.
