i put the 94 explorer 2 core radiator in my 87 ranger. bolts right up top hose is same but the bottom hose is not. what do i use for this i need to get asap.

Why won't it fit? Is the hose different size, on wrong side, curve in old hose not the same....?
I am interested to know also, as it may be a mod I could add to mine: If it will help cool engine.

i got my rad from 94 explorer auto, my truck is standard the uper hose works the same, the bottom neck the hose goes on is slanted down and requires the late 2.9l hose, i had them look up for a 1990 ranger 2.9l and a 4.0l ranger the 4.0l ranger hose is a little longer so i got that one and ended up have to cut like 3 inches off the end that goes to water pump. so the 1990 2.9l hose would have been perfect and under 10 dollars. if you get the radiator from a standard explorer i think you can reuse the bottom hose. Also makesure you get the shroud that goes with the radiator. I paid 40 bucks for mine at junkyard and it was brandnew almost. put an electric fan on it with a electronic thermostat to control fan. have yet to top off and run. sunday or monday ill get there and let you know.

I used my stock hose and cut a couple inches off.

yo must have gotten the manual tranny rad or the 89 is included in the (later) years bracket. the early ones mine is 87 does not work

I see. Well I got it out of an auto, but yes mine is an 89.

Just go out and buy a new hose for your truck/engine. The new hose is longer on both ends and will need to be cut to fit.

A IIRC from my 89 B2, there was a very slight rub issue with the steering box because of the steeper bend. Easy fix, just slide that lil sleeve there.

When I did my swap i used my old hose irc I put in my hose backwards.

you will need to get the hose for an auto transmission 2.9, it will fit right on.

Good deal!!! Glad to hear you got it fixed. I will have to keep this in mind, as my truck (87 2.9 made before Sept) runs a bit hot all the time. If this will help keep temp down, maybe I will be able to run A/C during the summer!!!

update: everything seems to be good no leaks, fan works with control switch, i did not put my aftermarket temp gauge in yet. still runs on the N but lower of it. My gauges seem to thave that problem the gas is way way past full. isn't there some thing we can replace on the back of the cluster to fix that. pending temp gauge.
