RABS on my 98 ranger 4x4 passes key-in self check fine and lamp switches off but ABS doesn't work and wheels lock up on ice
I replaced rear sensor and even swapped ABS comp that I got cheap at the yard. I ringed the wires between sensor, computer and ABS valve. Everything seems ok. I still have not tested the RABS diode with continuity test( Does anybody knows what that diode does?) My latest thinking is that ABS valve is stuck open and doesn't actuate when exited by computer, or may be just corroded to hell. Does anybody now the easy way to jump the ABS valve to force it to actuate? ( I want to try to avoid throwing yet another part at the problem before testing it out. )
