I bought a '93 Ranger recently and the fella who sold it to me said that the AC needs a charge. He said it had a bad O-ring which he replaced and then he checked the system and said it held a vacuum, but he didn't recharge it. I figure while I'm at this point I may as well convert it to R-234a. I know Wally-World has a conversion kit with the charging connectors that I would use to swap out for the current R-12 ones. Is that all I would need to do? Would the system lose the vacuum when I replace those connectors? Then do I just charge it with R-234a? Seems very simple if that's the case, but I sure don't want to miss anything and botch it up.
