quitting

hello all im new to trs i have found it extremly helpful already. anyways i my truck stalls out when i slow down fast with the clutch in. it just quits. sometimes it will catch itsself and run again but most the time i gotta start it again. not sure whats going on.

Check something to do with idle. If it has an IAC(idle air control) or it might even have a screw to turn in some and physically turn up idle. Vacuum leaks will cause bad idling also.

it does idle up and down abit. i cleaned the maf. didnt help. also i found out when the truck is hot and has been shut down then started again it really misses. im not sure if its a idle problem. i think the truck needs plugs but there expensive. check engine isnt on.

My 2.3 5spd had that problem. When I would stop quickly exiting off the highway (or anywhere really) I would have to give it gas WHILE braking to keep it from dying. Also, the idle wasn't good. It ended up being a vacuum leak at the lower intake.

Not saying that is what your problem is, I know they are different engines but I would definitely check for vacuum problems.

Sounds about right that when warm a crack would open up giving you more of a problem(electrical will do that also). Check your vacuum lines and carb cleaner can be sprayed to help you out(engine will idle up if you spray where the problem is).
