quick question

On my 1993 ranger i pulled the codes for my intermittent check engine light i get only in the mornings lately the code came back as 56. so my question is this means that i need to replace the maf? since it is a 60-120$ part new i want to fix it right once.

Try cleaning it..

X2 clean it with some MAF cleaner dont use anything else but the cleaner that is made to clean it. if that doesnt help then you prolly need to replace it

okie dokie it behaved its self till today when i flashed on for 10 seconds then would be off for about 3 minutes all the way to work and back because if the rain. so i took it apart and sprayed maf with maf spray. let it sit for an hour and it ran fine so i will see if it throws codes tomorrow on my way to work.
