i just got a set of springs out of a 2 door explorer, free,
i belive its the 4 spring style

and iv heard on the tech form that you can get a little lift out of explorer leafs.
and i want to eliminate the STACKED BLOCKS in the rear
ok so heres the ?
should i just go with the springs as is(already flipped the pin, gotta love vice grips and a snapon impact gun!!!)

should i take them apart and weave in leafs from my stock springs

almost forgot
its an 85 ranger
4x4 4 inch skyjacker lift

o and i have the stock block and the skyjacker block
which should i keep in, and is there a way to get about 3" of lift so i dont sag too badly with my quad, motorcycle, trailor on or in the back?

run the exploder spring and pickup from pepboys the belltech shackles and ull be at about the right height

M's got it right.

I got my shackles from Pep Boys. The're for dropping 2wd Chebbys. Solid mofos.

Shackle it and then see where you need to go from there. Maybe a bastard pack is in order

what do the shackles cost?
im broke as a joke at the moment

i need a job

i just got them home
and noticed

both sets of springs are only 3 leafs including the "helper"(? the bottom straight one)
but the explorer one are thicker
mabe i oughta cut the eyesoff the ranger top spring and run it under the exploder top
and do :
explorer top
ranger top -eyes
explorer 2nd
ranger 2nd
explorer helper

what do wou guys think, o and which block should i keep?

That might be a little stiff.... The shackles were 40 at my pep boys and checkers and advanced also sell a gheto fab chebby drop kit. The shackles look like a joke but it was only 15 bucks.

If you are looking to keep the same hight as you had before, I think the Explorer leaves, as is (without weaving the Ranger/ Explorer leaves together), and ditching the 2" block would put you at about the same place as you were before. The Explorer leaves lifted the back of my Ranger 2 maybe 3 inches.

I don't have any before pics, but here's a referance to after. That is stock size tires with only the Explorer leaves in the rear (the 2" stock block is in there too). So, I would think if you took 2" off of that, it would be stock height.

I would not personally weave the two pack together anyway.. I think the explorer leaves are fine the way they are. They flex nice, and have a good ride on the road. Any stiffer and both would be sacrificed.

Nah, it's my cousin's. The Ranger is mine, and the Bronco is one of my friend's.

I figured there would be comments about it... but I didn't have any other pics without the leveling kit... All have been with it on. Even with the 1 3/4" leveling kit (washers) it is still raked forward more than stock.

ok sounds good to me, i think ill just paint them than

so which block should i keep?
stock or skyjacker

i was thinking the one with more angle
just not sure which one that is yet, im gonna measure

How big is the SkyJacker lift block, and does it have a "bumpstop" biult in like the stock block?

And by the way, it is a really good idea to get rid of one block anyway, two blocks is a bad idea...

If the skyjacker block is just square and doesn't have a part sticking out for the bumpstop, and both are 2" blocks, I'd keep the stock block. Otherwise, I'd just keep which ever block gives you the ride height that you want.
