Hi, I am having a rough time getting my quick connects not to leak. I have and o-ring kit made specifically for Ford A/C systems. I cleaned every thing super good and lubed it all before assembling it and pumped it up to 200 psig and soaped it all up and had no leaks. I left it pumped up for 45 minutes or so and gave it a good chance to "fuzz" up if there was a leak and saw nothing. So we sucked it down with vaccuum and it held. We charged it up with a "12" alternative and worked for a while. So I checked it with a Freon sniffer and the buzzer went off real loud at the condenser, snap connector. Are there better or worse o-rings? Any body tried a larger o-rings?

the green o-rings are the best. i soak them in fresh oil (whatever oil you're using for your conversion)

it they aren't sealing then you might not be using the right thickness, or they are getting twisted when you install them. if they have plenty of oil on them they should slip on smoothly.

are you sure you're using the same size o-ring that was originally there?

Make sure the recess the O-ring fits in doesn't have a nick down in the bottom of the groove (such as damage that occurred while removing the old O-rings.

Something else to bear in mind is that the quick-disconnect fittings have a habit of developing grooves inside the female fitting when the o-ring ages/hardens. If this happens, you may be able to use a "slightly" larger o-ring to help seal the leak, but more likely you will either have to just accept the leak or replace the line with the female fitting. Since these lines are not fixed/clamped, they tend to twist due to the motion of the engine, body, etc. As such, "grooving" is kind of hard to avoid after a lot of miles.
