[88Situation]

I have a few questions can i make mounts for the motor that work on the stock ranger mounts out of like 1/2 inch steel? Can i use my stock 5 speed tranny and transfer case if i keep my foot out of it? i appreciate it i need all the help i can get oh and were could i find all the parts i need i have an 88 extended cab 4x4 and am going to put a 78 302 in from an f150 thank you

You can use 1/2 but that's over kill,1/4-3/8 is the norm. You'r trans will not bolt up to a 302.

And even if it would, it wouldn't last five minutes. They used to make an adapter for this, but it cost more than a good used V8 transmission would set you back. And once the V6 trans breaks (and it will) you're back at square one looking for another transmission

Coming from a guy with two V8 Rangers, I can guarantee that won't happen!!

So I can get a 4 speed automatic and transfer case from a guy hplus motor mounts for 150 bucks ur saying I cannot use my 5 speed so that's out now can I use my transfer case since its already wired up and this 4 speed auto came out of a ranger with a built 302 worth it ?
