I have a few questions about lift kits,
I have an 86 ranger extended cab that will be getting a 302 soon. i want to run 36" tires.
I have been looking at skyjacker kits and my debate is between the 6" and the 8" kits.
From what i see there is a class 2 kit in 6" but not 8", What is the difference in Class 1 and 2?
I have searched for others experiences and found a few that have the 6" kit with 8" coils to make up for the weight.
If i went with the 8" kit is there a taller or stiffer coil that i could use for the weight of the 302?
What do you suggest?
Any help is appreciated.

The 302 doesn't weigh much more than a 4.0.

The 8" kit isn't a good choice because of the HORRIBLE steering angles you get. You would have to also get the Superlift Superunner steering and then modify it for the extra drop.

I think you should get the 6" Class II kit and then get a 3" body lift. That should allow you to run 34" tires without a problem. If you want to run 36's, you will have to do some fender cutting.
