Do the '91 striker plates use the plastic around the striker bolt when the door closes? My '89 has them but both are missing from my '91. Both broken off? I just want to make sure before I put a new piece of plastic on.

How do you remove the dash vents? My '89 will soon hit the u-pull-it yard in favor of the '91. My '89 vents were good and the '91 were busted. I broke one of mine in the '89 trying to remove it. All four tabs broke. I wan to remove the good one without breaking it.

Thanks,

edit: Excuse my earlier post...the strikers do need the plastic on them, I'm assuming your doors rattle a bit on that truck without the plastic on the striker, replacing the plastic should solve it, I had that problem on another Ranger I had.

To help with removal of the dash vents you can use a small flathead screw driver to push in the tabs one by one, side by side, to get it out without breaking them. Also, I would suggest not doing it in winter, the colder it is, the more brittle the plastic will be. Have you tried putting the busted vent back in? One of my vents has 2 busted tabs and it holds in just fine.
