sup guys?
just joined the forum but have been using the tech library for a while now. i currently have an 87 bronco II but i've found a 93 ranger 5 spd stx package 4x4 at a pawn shop for a grand. I believe it has a 4" suspension lift.
my question is what is the stx package?
what are the main things i should look at about this model before i purchase it?
what's the easiest way to find out if it has 4.10s?
and lastly what should i sell my bronco II for... it is an automatic, 2.9L, 3" BL winch bumper, with ramsey winch and P buckshots on it.
what would you ask with the tires included and what would you ask for it with stock tires.

STX models in the 4x4 class, generally come with ALL the bells and whistles and all available options, for instance my 1996 4x4 ranger is an STX and it has EVERYTHING, all electric, 4 wheel abs, trim package, fancy electric seats, tow package, limited slip rear. fog lights. etc etc etc

They generally have the frils without chrome. Generally they have black bumpers, grille, mirrors, door handles...

On a 1993, the STX package usually consisted of:

Sport bucket seats with adjustable bolsters & lumbar
Leather-wrapped steering wheel (cruise/tilt standard on Supercab)
3.0L V6 base engine (nearly all were sold with 4.0s though)
Fog lamps
Heavy duty shocks w/ F&R stabilizer bars
Sport aluminum wheels
Vinyl tape styling on sides ('93 & '94 they were very ugly, few seem to remain with the tape on it)

The tape styling, sport wheels and leather steering wheel are the only STX-exclusive features, everything else could be optioned on the XLT.

The "Highrider" 1.5" factory lift seen on earlier STX models was not available though.

Easiest way to find out what gears it has is to look up the axle code on the door sticker. Of course if it's lifted, there is some possibility they were changed for the bigger tires (in which case you'd have to jack up a wheel and do a spin test to determine the ratio if the seller doesn't know).

you sure it isn't a highboy?

It's just a hair shy of 60 years too new to be a high boy.

High rider maybe.

unfortunately it doesn't look as good up close as it does from the road. The truck is about the worth of the 6" skyjacker class II lift.
no ac, no radio, pass door doesn't shut, hood doesn't shut and best of all no right axle shaft.
i'd buy it for about $300 bucks for the lift lol
