Questions about 1st generations...

Im going to buy a standard cab 1987 ranger and wanted to build a prerunner or a street truck, i havent decided yet. But was curious if all 1st Gen. short bed, single cabs had the same exterior, interior ex.( Dashboard to fenders and bumers etc..)
I have acsses to 1st gen. donors and was wondering if things would fit up... Any past expeirence and or advice would be great, Thanks

I will answer both of your post Q's in one response.
1982-1988 body panels and interior interchange, depending on trim line.
1982-1993 Interior mostly interchangeable.

There are subtle and not so subtle differences between the siblings in the Gen1 RBV. Floor pans are different from an x-cab to a reg cab and B2.
Other little things like where the clutch interlock switch is and the pedal style that matches the interlocks, transmissions etc.
