I have a 1990 Ranger Custom 5speed 2.3L. I can't figure out what the metal flex tube the goes from the exhaust header to the passenger frame rail is, and what's the point of it. Any ideas?

A pic would help but it's most likely the air box pre heater tube. Heat from the exhaust manifold is directed into the air filter housing to help warm the engine faster when cold.

Okay, I see now it goes right up to the air box, thanks for the help.
