Ordering gears soon. I have 31's with 373 gears. Swapping in the d35 soon also but I cant decide on 410's or 456's? I wanna know what rpm range i will cruise at from like 65 mph or so? Any help is appreciated

Engine size is important for proper gear selection.
I see 2.9L in your profile in which case I would strongly suggest the 4.56 gears for that size tire.

As for RPM @ 65, probably around 2550-2600 if you got a stick, or around 2400 with the auto in OD and the TC locked (you didn't say what trans you have).

If you're keeping 31's I say 4.10's would be alright.. 4.56's if you don't do much interstate driving.
If you plan on 33's; you know you will! Do 4.56's and be done!

Really need more details about the truck n what you plan on doing with it

That rpm with 456's? Mine now with 31's and 373 at 65 says 2500, but I think its 5mph fast, so that would be about 70. I have the Mazda M5OD.

I plan on keeping the 31's until they wear out, then possibly after that upgrading to 33's. I would love the power difference, but I do drive 120 miles round trip from college to home every other weekend. Just over 100 miles of those are freeway.

Another question: Is there a big difference between yukon and nitro? Also reverse and standard rotation? I dont know the difference between those.

Thanks

High pinions are reverse cut. D35 ttb is reverse cut. D35 true ifs is standard cut.

Personally I'd do 4.56's and deal till you get 33's. Bc if you don't; you'll want more than 4.10's for the 33's.

I read and thought a lot before picking 4.56's and I have a 4.0 auto and 33's...

If I was you id do 4.56's now. But... It's your choice. Sure your freeway rpms will be higher but still

Yukon or nitro? Yukon in my opinion bc I've seen what their warrenty is.. I like g2's personally

It says here with 456's and 31's in 4th gear(Manual Tranny) I will cruise at 65 mph at about 3,213 rpms. With a 15% less rpm for over drive(the most rpm I will turn) would be 2,731 rpms at the most. It says from a 15 to 30 percent decrease in rpm for overdrive so if it were to be 30 percent less i would cruise at 2,250 rpms. Im very satisfied with this, glad i found it. Im def going to go with 456's.

Yeah a 2.9L would be a big-time slug with 4.10s & 33s for sure. (even my 4.0L feels like it's being held back a little bit with that combo on mine).

The M5OD overdrive is 0.79:1, so you should be somewhere around 2540 RPM @ 65 w the 4.56 & 31s. You might even give 4.88s some thought if 33s are in your future.

As for Nitro vs. Yukon, I would agree, try for the Yukons first, though it could wind up depending on what ratio you're getting which brand you end up with. (Yukon's been hit-or-miss the last few years with the deeper ratios). I have not heard anything negative about Nitro's gears however, so it might not actually matter (the care that goes in during their installation will matter 10× over what brand they are).
