So when I had my 97 explorer eddie bauer edition, I ordered the wrong water pump and never returned it.. the pump is for the OHV engine. My truck was SOHC.

My buddy has a 98 B4000 and i cant seem to find wether his engine is the OHV or SOHC... I was gonna give him my pump in case he ever needs it.

From a bit of reading, this engine is the V6 Cologne and it isnt quite clear wether its the OHV or not...

Can someone confirm?

Otherwise..Ill have a brand new OHV waterpump for sale. haha

Your friend's 1998 4.0L is indeed an OHV. Rangers got the SOHC in 2001. Your water pump should work just fine.

However, make sure your friend has the 4.0L, not the 3.0L. It won't work in that case. Ha.
