Hey fellas removing the air on my '93 and I was wondering if I just remove the compressor and slap on the shorter belt?

I tried it on a Dakota and had to reclock the tensioner.

Its coming out no matter what!!!

In my 91 (with 4.0) just put on the non air belt...worked fine

Dorman has a line of a/c bypass pulleys. You just pull your compressor off and put this in place. Basically just a bolt on bracket with a pulley on it. Still use the original belt too. Not sure if they carry them for a ranger though.

Yep you can just remove the compressor and put on a shorter belt. I removed all the a/c components from my 91 Explorer and put in a non a/c heater box. There is lots of room under the hood now.
