Related to my issue with no fuel pressure that I posted about a bit ago for my '88 Ranger 2.3. I'm thinking about putting an 89+ fuel pump in the tank and removing the fuel reservoir and in-line pump. That would require some patch lines. The Ford line uses the c-clips to hold the connectors, and all the ones I see online like the Dorman ones have push button releases. Are these interchangable, and will any quick connect male fitting of the right size work for either female type? I was thinking about getting some male QCs with one barbed end and using fuel injection hose to bridge the gaps instead of buying nylon hose and that Dorman tool to fit them. Also, from what I've read, the reservoir uses 3/8 fittings for supply and 5/16 for return, even though the fuel line is 5/16 for both lines.

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you're right on the money, I "think" the fittings should be universal but I have not personally tried...

Myself when I did my turbo swap since I didn't know any better and didn't do what I would have now I got rid of the stock lines starting at the fuel filter area on my '90, shoved a 3/8" hose with two clamps over the barb on the fuel rail and fuel filter for the supply and I think I still used two clamps on the return even though it isn't necessary, there was conveniently a splice point at the fuel filter...

I would definitely recommend doing it better than I did, I've just been lazy and going with it, it's on "the list" but it's pretty low...
