Sorry to post this question twice as its on the axle forum aswell but I'm not getting any replies and I would be happy to rap up this job today.
I removed the warped axle shaft and replaced with another, during the process I wiped clean the inside lip of the original oil seal before inserting the other axle shaft but never applied any fresh grease on it and I don't know if this is a must do step. I kept the original oil seal because it wasn't leaking before.
So anyway I'm all done the job and would like some confirmation before I put the new diff fluid in and start driving it.

putting it in an engine forum isnt going to help you much :poke:

you shuold have replaced the seals, they WILL leak after being disturbed

yes I have learned this as it is now leaking some fluid. I'm assuming this must be bad for the brakes? Think I just got a few drops on the inside drum so hope thats not going to be a problem everthing looked normal couldn't see it on the brakes or drum but I know It must of leaked a couple drops

Oil will mess with the brakes and it wont take much.

is there anyway of knowing if to much oil leaked on to my brakes?

Take a look at the brakes. If they are soaked in oil or covered in it then they aren't safe. It's more or less personal judgement. My truck had a seal going out in it and the brakes got oil in them fast a ruined them plus they didn't stop the truck down as easily. After the fix I noticed the difference in the trucks stopping. I'd get the seal fixed ASAP before it cost you more money then it needs to.
