Has anyone found that installing axle pivot brackets for a 4x4 ttb provides more clearance to the oil pan? The reason i ask is because i am considering a lift and have a bad oil pan gasket as well!! Maybe I could kill two birds with one stone. Any opinions? Thanks!

The engine crossmember is the reason you have to pull the engine to change the oil pan gasket. That will not move with the lift. Sorry.

To answer your question, no you couldn't. Engine or tranny needs to come out.

If you dropped your transmission you could possibly wiggle the pan right out. i did this on my 3.0.

Not quite sure what it's like on either a 2.3 or 4.0.
