I have a 2.3 turbo sandrail. It is carbeurated. I am wanting to take an injected 2.3 from 87-89 ranger (4 spark plug head) and put my exhaust manifold and turbo on it. What else would I need for this conversion. I would also be taking fuel pump from ranger. Thanks in advance for answers.

my 89 was a 8 plug head!
u would be better off using a turbo car, get engine andall the wiring harness and ecu and swap it in. if thats not possible pull everthing from ranger and label it, including engine wiring harness(not sure if u have fuse box in ur buggy..steal the rangers if not!!!), ecu, head,throttle body, intake manifold, egr(not a must) all vacum lines(u can eliminate all emmisions since its offroad but get vacum line for fuel tank), coil, distributor, stock 02 sensor (will need wide band sensor to properly tune later on!!), and so on.... i would keep ur turbo block crank rods and pistons if they are good condition...they are forged plus u wont have to tap block for oil drain from turbo.
clean every thing and paint if you want
buy complete ranger gasket set and what exhaust gaskets u need for exhaust side for turbo.
assemble turbo block to ranger head use arp head studs for safety reasons!!
reassemble intake. GET a adjustable fuel pressure regulator! install that inplace of stock fpr. incar fuel pressure gauge not must but nice
reassemble exhaust. Get and install a electronic or manual boost regulator, Boost gauge.
u should run an intercooler but i dont know what ur buggy looks like so ur own ur own running it. u shold use 3" piping. im pretty sure the carb cars have 2 bolt flanges for the intake piping on the turbo so u might need to make a reducer using ur original turbo intake. i would get a greddy type r blow off valve since u can convert them to a bypass valve by routing 1" rubber hose to the air filter side of turbo, u will need to weld 1" on to piece of 2 3/4 id steel pipe and connect with inter cooler couplings.
i would run a 3" down pipe
Get a wiring diagram by Searching or buying. install wire harness u removed from ranger to ur buggy. make sure u ground as much as you can to ur frame and body( if any) run everything through a fuse box thats in ur diagrams!!
now ur ready to start..
i would not run more than 4-5 psi untill u get engine management( tweecer j3)and wide band 02 sensor. u can do a little research on that ur self;brownbag;
