Last year I started doing some bodywork on my 1996 Ranger (TRS-2). I needed to fix some of the rough stuff that was starting to rust. Not having a garage to work in, I didn't finish painting it until fall. I actually had some problems with 'fish eyes' that was probably caused by the woodburner I had to use to keep the garage warm enough to paint (blowing contaminents through the garage).

Vanessa and I moved a few weeks ago, and I finally have a garage and space to work.

Vanessa got me some new headlights and clear corners last December for my birthday, so today I put them in.

The corners aren't bolted in yet because I'll need to take them back out to align the headlights.

The chrome trim was looking a bit crappy....

So I picked up some new ones from LMC Truck.

My grill was broke from my last Kentucky trip to Sparkz (bottom). I got another grill from another forum member (top), but it's for a 93-94 Ranger. I ordered a chrome trim piece to go across the top.

Vanessa and I are going to Attica June 5th. We want to hit the trails and check out the TREC racing. I need to get it back together before then. Tomarrow I need to wire up the the projector lights in the headlights and start prepping the bumper and cage to repaint. I also want to Herculiner the bed.

Glad to see the truck getting put back together. I have to get started on mine pretty soon now that it's warm out.

she had a great idea with the clear corners it looks great

sweet i always liked this truck! im happy to see it getting freshened up again. maybe once we get the trs banner all the way across the country you could scan it and make a vinyl decal of it to put in the hood like it used to have before with the different military divisions? just an idea

Well I hooked up one of the projectors and it didn't work. It had a bad bulb. Anyone know how many watt bulbs go in the projector lights? I put a 55-watt in but it felt hot.

Glad to see TRS 2 going back together Jim. I like the truck and love the old school two tone paint scheme.:icon_thumby::icon_cheers:

Looks real good Jim, where did you end up getting the new lights from?

So what's you plan once you get it all back together? Going to put decals on before you take it wheeling and break in the new paint?:D

I have to stripe it and get the decals on. Repait the bumper, cage and offroad lights. I need to replace the powersteering pump. Mine is making to much noise. Much worse than the typical Ford steering pump.

looks great I completely forgot you were redoing it!
