Pulling the trans

Oh, I missed the part about pulling the engine. I usually try to avoid touching exhaust parts unless I absolutely have to. Probably not as big of a deal in Florida but up here messing with exhaust when pulling a trans usually ends up adding another few hours to the job to remove broken bolts and chase threads.

yeah, the motor is no good to me. I wanted to get a v8 donor then do the swap, but I think I bent a valve after a replace the head gaskets,, so I'm stripping her down while I search for a nice donor.

American, not African or European, M5OD-R1 for 3.0 weighs 86lbs 2oz. :ROFLMAO: BW1354 adds 73lbs 13oz. So, about 160lbs if removed together.

I've reinstalled 2wd version with truck on ramps/jack stands with assistance of 8 year old - allowed me to do heavy lifting, she did the fine adjusting. Transmission mount was removed, but exhaust was left in place - cross over pipe provided a resting location between the initial lift and final placement.

During removal, we pulled the drain plug before we started on driveshaft bolts, letting the transmission drain while we disassembled. So, it was pretty much empty, when it was dropped = no mess.

We had the seats out, carpet pulled back and transmission tin removed - which helped with removal of wiring (neutral/reverse sensor) and provided some extra clearance.
