Got back from Anchorage and went fishing, my buddy and I got two cohos and 17 dungee crab. And it was a nice day out on the water. Got back to the ranger today, and I’ve got her almost all stripped down. I did a leak down test once the roller followers were off and three jugs were great and 3 jugs were bad and leaking thru the intake. (Not all on the same side). The timing kits inside were still on but had obviously started to fail. Pulled good chunks of plastic out. I’ll take the heads off tomorrow and decide how to proceed with the valves. I learned a few things from the first time around too, like stretching a garbage bag around the engine when I flip it over fluids runoff into it and not onto the floor.
