when pulling my 2.9 can i pull the motor with the harness and if so were in the disconnect at does the transfer case have a mount on it or will i need a transmission jack to hold it

i disconnected the harnesses when i pulled mine. they plug into too many places to suit me. i used blue painters tape and marked each pigtail with letters (ie, same letters connected to each other). made it much easier to connect everything back when i put the motor back in. i didnt mess up a single connection.

the t-case will need to be removed. it's bolt to the tranny and the tranny is bolted to a cross memeber. i left my tranny/t-case in the truck when i removed the engine. there's only 6 (or 7 maybe) bolts on the bellhousing.

im only going to use a few wires from the 2.9 harness im going to 302 swap it so im only going to use like the temp and oil presser and stuff like that and starter wires i got a hei style dis in my motor

I suppose it would be possible, but by the time you get it to where the engine needs to come out, it's not much more to just pull the whole damn thing. The more removed that can get caught on anything, the easier it will pull out. I disconnected engine, pulled engine, then removed harness. But it doesn't matter, it will get done either way. More than likely will need to supplement a few things that run in the mainharness. I had an auto, so I stole the nss circuit out of my old harness. Get good wiring diagrams a head of time for sure!
