So i went mudding this weekend it was fun! But my eninge was dirty as hell! is there anyway i can protect my engine from mudd and stuff??? Im worryed about my wires and stuff getting too wet.

i've had mine dripping wet... no issue

Dielectric grease, silicone, or RTV sealant on every single electric connection is the only way too be paranoid about it. Making sure the gaskets are good is the mechanical protection for the rest.

If I were you, I would be more concerned about water in the intake. Hydrolock is not good for the engine.

thats true man thanks!! So do you think that a intakewrap wwould be good??? because im getting my cold air intake today:icon_thumby:

i would get a safari snorkel. that's just me though

Snorkel would be your best bet. If your intake just has the exposed filter i would be careful with the water and mud.

you can also build a skid plate that goes from your bumper to you front end to stop alot of mud from getting under the hood it will not stop the water but it will keep the muck out. u also say u have a body lift that means that the plastics in ur inner fenders is now too short if you extend that it will help keep the muck out as well.
those others dudes are right with a cold air intake it will leave your air filer exposed to everything under your hood, if you dont want the snorkel look on the out side of ur truck u could also run the air in take into your wiper area that helps alot with no big pipe on the out side of ur truck as well.

have fun but dont get stuck
