Do a 1989 BII have a Proportioning Valve? If so, where is it? Picture of it?

Steve

I was able to dig up an 89 BII manual and there is no proportioning valve. Because of the RABS system eliminating rear brake lock-up, a prop. valve isn't really necessary.

My 89 BII did!!!!
Driver side frame rail, about where transmissin/engine meet. IIRC
Follow your brake lines down to it, its big enough your not gonna miss it! Something like 3X5 inches big!!!

It DEFINITELY has one. ABS/Prop valve...2 bolts hold it to the fame via bracket. There's a large plug on it as well....It's right in front of the high pressure fuel pump on the frame.

That sounds like the rear antilock brake hydraulic control unit.

That's what I was trying to say in my first post. It's all in the RABS valve. I assumed the OP was asking about a separate prop. valve besides the RABS valve. Sorry for any confusion.

Ayup. That's the way I understand it too.

Parts like that were never released to the aftermarket for reproduction. For a new one your options are basically Rockauto.com or pray you can find one NOS at a dealer.

If you do find one from Ford you can probably negotiate the price a bit with the parts manager if you go in with cash (no, not a debit card, not a check, CASH) because he more than likely just wants it off his shelf and might just let you have it at cost.

I grabbed one off a 96 Ranger. They delivered it to my shop. All I paid for it was $25.00. Ended up not needing it. Still sitting on my shelf in the garage.
