Project SVT

Well, I found the 28 spline 8.8's weakness...so its coming out and I'm putting my 31 spline 8.8 with disks in for now til I get my axles built and in, I think I also need to do some wheel bearings up front....And I found out the tcase is pulling, but the right front hub is busted, so thats why I lost front drive. Going to pick up SVT this morning and get him fixed ASAP...
SVT

Doing doughnuts in gravel with barely a dusting of snow, a v8 and my 37" iroks on loan! I really don't see how in any way a 8.8 is designed for that! No wonder it broke an axle!

And you won't! :D

Down again, broke an axle doing doughnuts on 37s with barely a dusting of snow on the ground! :icon_thumby: :icon_confused:

Its Just temporary until he can get it fixed....thats part of wheeling man, if your going to play something is going to break, you just have to accept it and know how to fix it and have the money to fix it....

Well, after "being left out in the cold" and SVT spending the night at the gatehouse, and to my surprise nothing that I know of was stolen, I finally got him home about noon today, so tomorrow starts the fabwork of installing my 456's in my exploder axle and then into SVT...Might install my custom remote power steering reservior that I had Iron Ranger build me, and figure out how long my hydraulic lines need to be for my hydroboost...
SVT

Well, Just remember on very very important thing when you do the axle build and change out.

PICTURES, we want lot's and lot's of pictures.

With all the crap you guys busted I think Im keeping my 60 and 10.5 to put in this spring!

Chad, this weekend was the worst for everyone...I can't believe we had as much trail repair as we did....Hell you know I have ran those Iroks for over 8 months of wheeling and no problems....This was just a freak weekend....
SVT

Sure was because I didn't break!

Adding those 2 cylinders is kicking your ass to!:D
Thats one reason my truck is still sitting (on jack stands!...lol).I know with the motor thats in it the 28 will puke and the flying parts would probably kill 2 or 3 forrest critters.
The trouble you guys had confirms Im going big or staying home:icon_thumby::icon_welder:!
Wish I could have been there to give you a hand.

I may have a V8, but I don't have low range, and I know I'm not putting out 2.48 times the power the 4.0L had ( 1354 in low range is 2.48:1)...

YES!!! Get on it! Suspense has been killing me for over a month now.

If it turns out that it doesn't fit, I'm gonna find a pillow and cry into it! :icon_surprised:

Easy there, Paul! I will make it fit, it's too close for it not to fit! Unfortunately, it won't be this week, as I was just informed to put my department (as well as the entire county) on standby for the weather storm thats hitting our area starting wednesday...So I've got to finish SVT so I can have him report to duty!
Well, I've raped my exploder axle out of my lowrider :bawling: and got SVT in the shop and removed the old axle, and started to drain the corn syrup out of the exploder axle (It's 14* here). Tomorrow will be gear swap, bracket removal and installation, then the axle can be installed under SVT...Sorry no pics yet, will take em tomorrow...
