Project: SVT Wannabe

Dustin is already a member. I went to register last night and found out I already was a member. I just forgot I joined and posted twice sometime last year. So I reposted a very very brief version of this build thread. I asked for dustin and your friend request. LOL

Dont hold your breath for me to log in there. Last time I was on there, I almost got banned.

Well so far I havn't really liked either one. I've been on FF more, but neither would I recommend to a noob in the focus world unless they are thick skined. It seems unless you own SVT or heavily modify your ZX you won't get too far in the focus forums. Everyonce in while you get a member right up you ally but they are few and far between.

So I went over to my mother in laws house today for some food and a cornhole game. While I was there I took advatage of the garage to get a couple things done today.

The 18's have been rubbing a bit on turns and large bumps when the trunk is loaded down or we have someone in the back seat. Other wise it's fine. So I pulled the wheel off.

You can see here the bare metal is were the tire has chiped the paint off and the missing plastic off the rear bumper. the carpet insulation stuff I ripped off a week or so ago when I saw the tire was taring into it. I've already hammered a bit with the tire still attached at that same time.

You can see here were I've been hammering the inner lip up to get it out of the way.

I got the angle grinder out and cut away at the inner lip just behind the rear bumper and I cut away about a quarter inch of the inner bumper. Once I cut some of the inner lip off i took a hammer and bent the sharp edges out of the way.

You can see from the pics above the hammering pushed the bumper out a bit but I was able to realign it with a rubber mallet and a towel. Now it looks like nothing was done from the out side.

I also got in the new plug wires I ordered through massive. Everyone gave me so much crap for the cheapo wires I used for the tune up I did last month. So I figured I make everyone happy with these. And it'll add a bit more contrast to the bland engine compartment.

Installed!

I also tried out some tire shine and cleaned up the wheels a bit.

You know my screamin demon is for sale. Just saying.....

Should be. They used the same coil on all 4 cylinders and some V8s (they have 2). Not sure about the plug wires though. Didn't realize you have an SPI and I can't say I've seen one in person lol.

do you listen to the radio?

just shave it right off... and yes that's too ricey...

Yes I listen to the radio I delete that post due to the antenna would fit anyways ,nothing that company had would fit a foucs too bad cause I was going to buy those blue lug nuts. So i'm looking else where. I have the one that used to be on my ranger still but I think it might be female and not male like the one on my focus. I can't remember.:icon_confused:

i believe the ranger ones are male... i know my 89 mustang 100% sure was, and i'm about 60% on the ranger, if i am not too tired after work tomorrow, i'll go out to the garage and take a look (my antenna is in the garage, truck's on the street)

Ok got up and got working on some more preventive maintenance. It Helped a bit but the cables need still need replaced there are so many on both sides it's gonna be a while. I'm gonna half to trace them to see where the go which is gonna involve the removal of things like the air box and so on. I'm just gonna half to deal for now and hope it doesn't get worse. The postive wires looked worse so i'll prolly go with those first. Anyways on with the pics.

Cleaner, protectant, and washers.
