Well I sold my 86 Raner last Thursday and bought a 1988 Bronco II on Saturday to replace it. I have a whole list of stuff I want to do it is going to be done up in 70s and 80 style, so I figured "Space Cowboy" would be the perfect name for it. I have a whole list of stuff I want to do but its all on a list in the truck so I will get it up here when I bring my notebook home. The first thing I have to do is rebuild the transmission and clean the interior and fix a dent in the front fender but for $250 I think I ot a descent deal.

Here are some pics.
Me with "Space Cowboy" don't I look beautimous

Well its a lot but I'm going to do all my work myself and I have no job so lots of time and a little money from my trucks so I hope it all works out and hopefully I can get a job soon.

I like the idea of putting bean bag chairs in the rear. Looks like you got your work cut out for you. I would make it 4wd for due to that might cost the most, any plans on what axle your going to run, not going to be an easy thing to do or cheap!!!!!!

well i can get a 4x4 parts ranger for real cheap so probably just all stock 4x4 components. It will mostly be a daily driver but i will hit some mud with it too

I also noticed a leak around my water pump today so i've gotta replace that too. It looks like things might slow down for a bit at the shop so hopefully i can get the trans and water pump done soon, i may try to get my lift on too if i can afford it soon. then i have to get it cleaned up for senior pics then i can get to workin on the rest, hopefully.

Are you putting a new lift on or not? I would wait to make it 4wd then lift it, just to save you some time.

i don't think i'm gonna lift it right now but we had our 3rd bomb threat this week at school i was able to work on it most of the day. i got the dash pulled out and started pulling the trans. i am going to finish pulling out and tearing down the trans tomorow, to see what all i need. then i might start putting the dash back in it. i am also planning on going to look at a possible parts truck. which is where i will get the 4x4 parts and whatever else i need. i hope the dashpad is in good shape and hopefully it has a center console and the brushed aluminum dash panel and the hatch with the opening window. i should have more noticeable progress sometime this week or next week end.

but we have had bad bomb threats in my area, this week they had 3 at the school 1 at McDonalds and 1 at the Courthouse. The FBI is suppose to be coming up here to investigate and the school alone is offering a $300 reward for the capture and prosectution of this creep. plus the john deere dealership was broken into and someone stole $2000 and someone tried to break into the ford dealership dad works at several times. this is in a town of 3000 and no one has any info on it, its freakin nuts. and the mcdonalds was robbed not to long ago also.

Get the hell out of there....wherever that is!!!!!!!

lol it use to be worse here the town i actually live in was the heghest meth lab per capita in the us, but after all the busts everything quieted down now thing just went crazy in literally a week and a half. it think it is probably one kid doing all of it cause its all shoty work so i think when they catch the one all will be fine

sorry forgot the update.
Got the trans dropped and pulled apart, found out i am gonna need a planatary, torque converter, and rebuild kit.

It's not as bad as i expected

I also have the dash pulled apart to clean the crap that was stuck inside out replace the speakers. I will put the dash back in on monday. I have the rear seats pulled out and will hopefully have the interior cleaned good enough to put them back in on tuesday. and hopefully sometime this week i will get a new water pump but that will probably wait til next weekend when the trans should be done also.

I would go with a manual tranny, just that much less that can screw up plus better gas milage.
