Due to the complicated story of why I no longer have my Ranger, my uncle gave me a nice little red '84 Mazda B2000. I went 270 miles to Augusta, and was there for a week tinkering with it with my uncle. It's still got some issues, but I still managed to get it 100 miles and then the starter packed up. The body is in surprisingly good condition, and with some elbow grease the interior will be spiffed up in no time.

Future plans:
15" black steelies (see pic below)
New A/T's
3.73 gears in the rear (or possibley an RX-7 swap)
Weber 2bbl carb
Window tint
Exhaust
Minor body work
Install a tach
Redo interior
Ghetto rig my Escort sets into it
Eliminate anything from the engine bay that I deem unneccesary

2.0 I4, 2bbl Nikki carb, factor spec- 103hp and 123 torque.

Updated with pics.

The following things were done before I attempted to drive this rig home, resulting in 95 miles driven, 190 towwed >_>

New fuel pump
Used set of tires
Removed a BB from the vacuum line to the EGR valve
Cleaned spark plugs
Tuned the carb to the best possiple outcome
Put the bed back on
Decided we should re-hook up the check valve in the fuel line
Put the bed back on again

We still couldnt figure out why it won't idle right. And now theres a possibility that the engine is locked up. =/

EDIT: The motor is screwed to hell, now saving for a full on trans and engine swap.

would that be a 4x4 transmission your saving for? along with some toyota axles? hmmm maybe about 14" bobbed outta the bed lol

Nah, I'm not gonna go 4x4 with it. That's gonna be a Ranger project I'm gonna save for after I find employment, which I must fix this Mazda to do. This truck is just gonna be a peppy fun drive gas saver with it's little I4. Last night I was considering just doing a swap but it looks like it's salvageable.

With the help of some friends we're basicly ready to yank the trans and engine tommorow. Big storm started to head in today but all thats left is the motor mounts and its out. Engine needs a total overhaul =/.

I need it. I can afford most of the overhaul parts on the first of the month, but I won't know how extensive damage may be til we do a full teardown. The weatehr's been real rainy lately.
