ok well right now i dont even have a RBV in my hands yet, i'm looking at a '85 "ranger"? it is a ranger cab swaped over on to a '86 B2 frame, it has the carb'd 2.8 and mazda m5r1..that is the current rig i'm looking at, don't know about it yet, thats what i need you guys for.

my plans for this is to SLOWLY build it up to be a bog/mild(very very mild) trail rig..

my buddy is pulling his D44 TTB and 8.8 out of his '88 f150 to run 3/4 ton axles..the flavor of a D60 and stearling 10.25...
he offered me the D44 and 8.8 for 150 bucks.
could i put the D44 in as full width?? i really want to run full width axles on a RBV, don't know why but i just love the super wide stance.

the B2/ranger whatever you call it has no bed so i was thinking TUBE BED!
i dont know what to offer the guy for the "thing" he said 1000, and his lowest would be 800.. but like i said i have no clue what to call it or even offer for it, i'll try to grab a picture of it.
the pictcure makes it look RUFF but if the engine/trans/t-case is good then its what i want as a starting point for the project..

i plan to fab up a lot of stuff for it.. just to break in my new helment..:icon_welder:

i came up for a name for it... "banger"
heres the pic:

What the hell? Is that a four wheeler wheel / tire?

I've seen a few of these Rangers on BII frame trucks out there lately. They are pretty cool with the shortened bed and all.

When are you picking that up?

I think its a tractor tire

Well since you named it you have to get it....

lol...

Putting a Dana 44 TTB in the front of a ranger involves making some new axle hangers and some other stuff.. I have not done this myself to know the difficulty of everything.

if you have some basic fab skills or a buddy who does, it shouldnt be too much of a problem. and $150 is a great deal for front and rear!

i do not know if i'm getting it or not yet, i need to sell my old f150, he has a step side bed, some tires and other goodiesthats suposedto go with it, sooo 800 is starting to sound pretty good..

You gotta go buy that thing man.

You gotta go buy that thing man.

can you tell me why?

I will have as much in going to get it as i have in buying it....(ok thats an exageration, i MIGHT have 60-100 bucks in going to get it, that is if i dont have to "rent" the trailer)

I'm so glad i work on a farm.. got a 23ft flatbed trailer at my finger tips, and my dad has a 2500HD...

how hard is the master cylinder for the clutch to change?
is it about like the brake master, just less lines?

You mean the slave cylinder for the clutch?

It really isn't hard...just undo the bolts that holds it on the transmission, loosen the hose, and put the new one on and bolt it back...hook the clutch hose up and bleed the line...

no, i meant master, if thats not the "proper" name for it... my bad, i'm talking about the black "master cylinder" next to the brake master cylinder, its bad on that truck.
the slave cylinder on the 5 speed you have to pull the tranny, then the hose, then the 2 bolts..

:icon_confused: You mean the clutch fluid resoviar(or however you spell it)?

fluid reservoir would probably be a more accurate description i think. i would imagine the worst part would be getting to it and making sure its properly bled.
