Well I started work on the engine today and gave it the once over. All looks good. Decided to call this project "PROJECT OUTRANGEROUS". I took the alternator apart and did a little sanding and polishing, only took about 4 hrs. I think it looks great and will stand out on the finished engine. Think I'll do the throttle body too. Found the plastic pan under the intake manifold had a few pieces broken off from the top ?? not sure what difference this can make, will have to research this part. Good to have the engine in the garage finally. I also found a sticker on the alternator that stated that it to was remanufactured Yahoo! another plus.

This isn't "post #2" this is THREAD number three. You don't need to post a new thread everytime you want to add to your original thread on this project. Not only did you pick a motor that's too wide, now you're hoggin the whole thread list as well

some one could have sand blasted that for you for for 5-10 bucks and it would have taken all but 5 minutes

Sorry about the improper posting method, I'm new to this and I thought this site was here to share your info and projects. ?? So I should just add to the original post with the project progress and not add a new thread? Not sure what you mean here. The #2 was intended to use as tracking the order of progress. I'm just trying to share my experience with others who may be thinking or doing the same type swap. It's already been done by others and it does fit, but I still have many questions ahead and this looked like a great site for experienced answers.

Might try: search, read, search, read, search, read. I've been here for the better part of ten years now and as far as I can recall, there's been one DOHC swap and one, maybe two SOHC swaps. As for you not understanding posting new threads everytime you have something to say, again: search, read, search, read and you should get the hang of how things work here.
