1991 Ranger (Reg cab / short bed) chassis w/ 1960 Ranchero body.
I test fitted the body on the chassis last weekend. The fit is better that I expected. Just have a little nip - tuck work to do to get the body a little lower on the chassis. This is a long going, slow moving project.

I plan on using the 200 six with a c4.

Has anyone ever put a 200 six in a Ranger before? Looks like it will not be easy.

That is going to be one way cool podject, Bro!! Keep us posted. I really love the dog and cat!!!! So, Cool!!!!!

I'd wondered bout the fitment on one of those. It would have to be pretty close.

Make it 4wd.

will be to sweet when you get done.:icon_thumby:

you are combining two of my favorite things in the whole world....early falcon, and ranger.i was all about the 60-63 falcons 30 years ago.wish i still had some of those.

Yep. This is the most fun I have had in a long time with a project. With two clapped out trucks who's future was the crusher, There was nothing to lose. No stress and darn near free.

I got the Ranchero as a trade with a friend for a pair of '70 cougar fenders. He told me the Rancher on a Ranger had been done and it works well. He is correct.

Honduras. Awesome!!! What a cool place. I read a book "Oro", a long time ago. Took place around there. One of my favorite books, and I have only read 3 books in my life.

Thank for the Link cammeddrz, Good read. Lots of interest in the I-6's.

The people on this forum get it. Thanks. I get a hard time from the purists.

I get a hard time from the purists.

:icon_rofl:

no i get a hard time from the purists. at least you're sticking with ford-to-ford, i dropped a ford body onto a chevy frame :thefinger: i catch crap left and right for it.

but i know exactly what you mean, everyone wants you to "restore" the ranchero back to stock because it is a "classic" right?

why the 200 instead of the 300? not criticizing, just curious.

LMAO Nothing wrong with using GM frame. It's all good.

200, because it is what I have laying around here and I'm a cheap Scot. Have a spare 289 and a 292 Y-block. Love the y-blocks. I wonder what became of all the y-blocks that went to Brasil? They stayed in service there for a long time. The old Galaxie lived on there too for years. I have seen pics of some very nice looking Galaxies in Brasil.
Australia carried the 200 six and evolved it into a beast of a six. We in the US have the horrid log-head...

the inline should fit between the frame rails fine, it is the matter of the distance between the firewall and the radiator that others have encounterd i-6 swap problems on rbv's in the past, but your ranchero should have a plenty-long enough engine bay to fit it
