Jon, you may want to throw the back seat in to make sure you have clearance for it....

gonna look good:icon_thumby:

yup thats part of the plan.
Hey man, did a bit of work on my Sterling 10.5, I wrote a bit of tech in my tow rig thread in non-RBV builds, if youre interested.
cool ill have to check it out, i need to go and pick mine up.
Just an FYI... A rear F-150 19gal. tank fits in the "spare tire" spot, so you can get rid of the stock rock finder. :icon_thumby:

cool, i was wondering what would fit up under there. i hate the stock tank where they are at. they are ALWAYS right in the worst spot.

thanks for the tip man.

is the liftgate still functionable? b/c that would be fin awesome!
be able to open it, put some support legs under it, and it leave the back half open w/ a roof!!!!

Nope hatch will be welded in, but the window and wiper will still be functionable.

Way to much work to keep the whole hatch funtionable. Would be a sealing nightmare

Looks good. I do like Ben's idea, but it would take a lot of work to make it seal.

Damn. Ninja'd again.

it took alot of cutting to get this far and i still have alot to go, have to take another inch out of the sides of the hatch and alot of trimming on the upper hatch to try and get it to match up to the roof. all in all its going to be more body work then i originally thought but it shouldnt be too bad.

plenty of headroom sitting in the backseat and still a little bit of storage behind the seat. going to end up at just over 32" of bed space.

So I know I'm "just a girl" and "just the photographer" but I gotta chime in here and say that Jon...that looks frickin awesome. Think I know what Rick's next project might be *grin*

i agree. it would be a lot of work to make it seal and functional. but it would be awesome... pure and simple awesome. just not simple to get to that point lol

What good would it be if you could open it? I like the direction you are going, moving quick on it too.

i was saying if you could open it, prop it up and it be a roof over the cargo area.

take the doors off; raise the liftgate up; more open area for wheeling
